At skiScandinavia we're firm believers in booking skiing holidays as early as possible, and it’s not just because it’s our job.
Accommodation sells out fast in Scandinavia – The most popular options sell out 4 – 6 months in advance.
Flight costs go up the closer you are to travelling – So leaving it to the last minutes means your holiday is generally more expensive.
Ski school availability gets limited – The hugely popular and highly regarded Scandinavian ski schools can also sell out, so booking early means you get the best choice of lessons.
This year the experts at skiNorway are already completely sold out for Half Term (and have been for a while) and at Easter we have just secured some super-exclusive extra availability, so we’re not exaggerating when we say leaving it until the last minute isn’t the best plan.
How far in advance should you be booking?
Wondering when you should be booking your perfect skiing holiday in Scandinavia? Here's our guide on how far in advance you should be contacting us.
School holidays – Christmas, New Year, February Half Term and Easter should all be booked at least 8 – 12 months in advance to guarantee your favourite accommodation. However, most bookings are made 12 months in advance by our returning families.
Catered chalets and cabins – Private cabins and chalets should be booked 12 months in advance to secure your first choice. There are only a handful of chalets available and these disappear very quickly.
Low season – Off-peak travel is increasing in popularity as people go in search of the best snow and quietest slopes, but despite the reputation these periods can get booked up. We suggest booking at least 4 months in advance, but if you’re after something specific then the earlier the better.
Of course, there are always exceptions so please feel free to get in contact just in case. For more information you can contact us here, or give us a call on 0207 199 6015 to discuss your 2018-19 holiday requirements with one of our team.
